Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Biesantz
In the 70s, Andreas was educated in professional biodynamic farming in Germany. Following his desire to broaden his horizon, he then studied Biology and Philosophy in Basel (Switzerland) and Berlin (Germany). He completed his PhD at the Agricultural Faculty of the Technical University of Berlin about genetic resources of wheat in 1989. In the following years, he immersed himself into sustainable international agricultural research and gave lectures in the universities of Berlin and Ankara. From 2001 to 2018, he represented Demeter International at the EU Institutions in Brussels. Today, he is an external expert for the European Commission (DG Research & Innovation) in the field of sustainable agriculture and a freelance consultant for agricultural sciences and organic farming.
